Forty telecentres in Northern Province...!
(14.02.2013) The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka has formally opened applications to set up 40 Nenasala or telecentres in the Northern Province as part of the agency’s continuing efforts to bridge the digital divide in the country. Telecentres, also known as Community e-centres, are public sites often situated in remote areas that enable people to gather information, create, learn and communicate with others by using the ICT tools provided.

(14.02.2013) The Highways Ministry is completing two new highway projects - the Katunayake Expressway and the Matara Expressway which will be open to the public in August and September this year, Secretary to the Ministry of Ports and Highways Ranjith Premasiri told. He said construction work on these mega projects, now in the final stages will be inaugurated in August and September this year.

President to open tallest building in Jaffna ...!
(13.02.2013) President Mahinda Rajapaksa will ceremonially open the Central Functioning Building complex built at Jaffna Teaching Hospital this morning on the invitation of Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena, a Health Ministry spokesman said. According to the spokesman the building complex which cost Rs. 2,870 million was built with the assistance of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). This is the second hospital project to be opened under the Health Ministry's 2013-2017 five year health development plan.

(24.01.2013) In the month of December 2012, Sri Lanka Tourism witnessed the highest ever tourist arrivals in a single month. According to the figures, in last December alone, a number of 122,252 visitors came to Sri Lanka whereas the total number of visitors for the year 2012 amounted to be 1,055,605, which recorded a growth of 17.5% in comparison with the previous year.
